its been a long time

It's been a long time since my last post. Well I have finished two moebius scarfs according to the Cat Bordhi method and I just love them. I used Jitterbug yarn from Colinette yarns. The first one is small and tug and the second one came out quite "larger" than expected but hey, thats not a problem. Thats just my version of a snood. So here are the pictures:

I am currently working on a knitting order for the boutique of the National Museum of Iceland in Reykjavik and then I will go on to an order for traditional knitting for a souvenir shop in Iceland also. I am also working on a new line of clothes and accessories for babies co-designed with a friend. There we are experimenting with fibers such as 100% cachemire, angora blends, organic merino and baby alpaca. All very exciting. I will put on some pictures later but for now we are really in the early stages. Anyway have a nice weekend and I will write some more later

Hi, no photo today but I just wanted to share with you my new experience. I just tried knitting the moebius according to Cat Bordhi and it is just genious! I saw one of her videos on youtube and just had to try and it is incredible so I encourage you to take a look and try for yourselves. I will put a photo later on.

The Aiguilles en fete show in Paris

Today I went to the Aiguilles en fete show in Paris. That was fun. I just wish it was more knitting oriented and less cross-stich but hey... Anyway I was able to approach knit-heaven at the Loop-both. That was heaven! So I totally lost myself to yarn infatuation. Here´s a photo of my shoping of the day.

Lace scarf finished

I just finished my lace scarf. The one I made with "voile de la mer" from Tilli Tomas. I am rather pleased with it and find the design nice- but then ofcourse it comes from my imagination so no surprise there. Here is a photo of the scarf as I am blocking it and a second one up close so you can see the stich pattern.

So what now? Well I decided I was going to do a sort of wrap/poncho/shawl creation. I have this gorgeous yarn from Knitpicks; it's called Shimmer and the colour Shallows. It is a beautiful colour and the yarn is incredibly soft, it is made from 70% baby alpaca and 30% silk. Here's a photo of what's done so far

I'm using garter stich for this project. I am making a long panel that I intend to fold and stitch together for it to make a sort of poncho. Hope it will work. Tell you about that when we get there.

Socks finished

I just finished the socks for my daughter.  She loves them and I think they are beautiful. I m allready thinking about making a second pair - for myself this time.

Now I am making a scarf from my imagination. I use a stitch called "wheatears" and the yarn is "Voile de la mer" from Tilli Tomas, a wonderful and soft yarn made from 70% silk and 30% seacell. Here s a photo.

Kauni lace yarn

This is my first attempt at lace knitting. The pattern is an old Icelandic shawl pattern and I used Kauni lace yarn. The colors are really beautiful.

A felted handbag - my own design

I rather like this one though I say so myself! This is a felted bag made from Kauni multicolored yarn and with bamboo handles. The pattern/motif is an old Icelandic pattern from the 19th century
